Overview
Maintenance Technician – Electrical, Electrical Fitter, Electrician. Permanent, full-time opportunity based in Huntingwood, NSW. Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm.
Are you a self-motivated Electrician looking for a change in pace? This role is suitable for Electricians or Electrical Fitters who hold their Electrical License and want to expand their skillset with training provided. Our client provides mechanical and electrical maintenance services to automation equipment installed in medium and large warehouses and distribution centres. You DO NOT need previous automation experience; training is provided.
You should have a positive, can-do attitude, strong interpersonal skills for customer-site work, and a willingness to learn and develop your current skillset.
The Role
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing planned, unplanned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance, as well as inspections of automation equipment. This role ensures the seamless operation of the site and enhances customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily system audits.
- Conduct mechanical and electrical breakdown maintenance.
- Inspect and replace hard-wired gear motors and power supplies.
- Undertake mechanical and electrical repairs and component replacements.
- Generate reports for internal and external stakeholders within agreed timelines.
- Compile monthly management reports for internal and external distribution.
- Engage in continuous improvement activities to optimize systems, collaborating closely with team members and other departments.
- Complete breakdown reports, shift logs, and issue logs in accordance with internal protocols.
- Ensure the site workshop is well-maintained, presentable, and clean.
- Adhere to Australian, internal and external OH&S regulations.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Participate in local, interstate, and overseas training and development opportunities.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as required.
Skills, Experience, Qualifications
- Must hold Australian Electrical License
- Previous electrical experience in domestic, residential, commercial or industrial settings
- Experience maintaining on-site equipment within engineering, automation or manufacturing is desirable
- Experience with belts, conveyors, motors and gearboxes is beneficial
- Hold a valid driver’s license
- Desirable: Familiarity with PLCs and automated equipment
- Pre-employment medical, D&A and police check required
