Locum Maternity Leave Coordinator – Enrolment & Course Administration

Co.As.It. is seeking a full‑time locum maternity leave coordinator for a 6‑month contract commencing Monday, 2 February 2026.

The coordinator is responsible for coordinating the administration activities of the education programs under the direction of the Education Team Leader. They are the first point of contact for all student and school enquiries and are responsible for the successful enrolment of students in all education programmes.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Demonstrated understanding of Co.As.It.’s role within the community and the functions of each area;
- Excellent oral and written communication in English and Italian;
- Well‑developed organisational skills, including a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a busy environment, prioritise tasks and meet strict deadlines;
- Highly‑developed computing skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, databases, email and the Internet;
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, confident manner and expertise in working with the public;
- Consistency, accuracy and accountability in undertaking tasks and maintaining records;
- An ability to show initiative and to work independently;
- Demonstrated knowledge of administrative processes.

Psychologist – Italian Bilingual (Full-Time, Immediate Start)

The Psychologist position is funded by NSW Health to provide mental health services to the Italian‑Australian community living in Sydney. The position is responsible for counselling, group work, community education, mental health promotion and liaison and consultation with mainstream providers.

Applications are open to suitably qualified candidates who are Australian citizens or permanent residents. Closing day for applications: Friday, 21 November 2025.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Degree in Psychology;
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility for conditional registration;
- Exceptional counselling, case management and assessment skills;
- Fluency in Italian and English;
- Demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of older people in the community with a particular emphasis on people from CALD backgrounds;
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role in a community setting;
- Well‑developed organisation and problem‑solving skills and ability to successfully manage competing issues and priorities;
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other services and professionals regarding quality outcomes for individuals receiving services from Co.As.It.;
- Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Office;
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.

Italian Teaching Positions – Part‑Time (Out of School Hours, Adult and Private Classes)

Co.As.It. is seeking part‑time Italian teaching positions in our Out of School Hours Program, Adult Classes and Private Classes Programs. Classes will be held in a variety of locations in Sydney as well as online.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Degree in teaching or relevant experience in language teaching;
- Use of creative and innovative teaching practices to provide a rich learning environment that acknowledges the different learning styles and levels of students;
- Competence with the use of learning technologies such as Smart Board, online teaching resources, computers;
- Italian mother tongue and excellent knowledge of English;

Casual/Relief Teachers – Italian Bilingual School

The Italian Bilingual School (IBS) is seeking to fill casual/relief teaching positions. Applicants should be NESA accredited primary school teachers, native speaker of English or Italian.

Community Aged Care Workers (Part‑Time)

Co.As.It. is seeking part‑time Community Aged Care Workers to assist older Italians in their homes to maintain their independence. Applicants will undertake a functional pre‑employment assessment and a nationally coordinated criminal history check (NCCHC). Assistance with attainment of Certificate III in Home and Community Care will be offered to successful applicants.

Duties: Provision of support and care to elderly, assistance with meal preparation, respite care, social outings, transport, shopping, light housework, personal care.

Selection Criteria:

- Experience in aged care or disability;
- Commitment to ongoing training;
- Current NSW driver’s licence and reliable car.

Voluntary Socialising Opportunities

Co.As.It. is seeking Italian‑speaking people to spend an hour each fortnight socialising with an older person who would appreciate company. Volunteers receive training, supervision and support; transport costs are reimbursed.
