Position Information

Colyton High School has an enrolment of 759 students in mainstream classes. In addition, the school has 3 support unit classes with up to 38 students. 41% of students have a language base other than English. 10% of students identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

Responsibilities & Requirements

- Approval to teach students with learning and support needs secondary and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs secondary in regular classes.
- Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.
- Experience in delivering effective literacy and/or numeracy interventions to students with below grade level skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork, effective communication and building positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents/carers and the wider school community to improve outcomes for all students.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE. Applicants on the eligibility list will be offered the remaining FTE but are not obliged to accept. Further information can be found on the merit selection webpage.

A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
