About the role

An exciting and immediate opportunity for an Apprentice Printer / Press Assistant to join our team and learn the Printing Trade as an offsider to our experienced Printers, operating Heidelberg Presses. This permanent full-time position will initially commence on Day Shift working 12-hour rosters (3 days per week). A great opportunity to develop & progress your career with an industry leader and the world’s leading In-mould label (IML) manufacturer.

The Printing Assistant position (where your Apprenticeship commences) will be responsible for assisting the Printer in operating the press and machinery to produce and print a variety of high-quality in-mould labels. 

Duties include:

Assisting the Print Operator on Heidelberg Machinery to print labels

-

Blend and test inks according to specification.

-

Check production output according to determined quality specifications.

Proficient in English in order to complete work order documentation.

Determine corrective actions when product is out of specification.

-

Follow the work instructions, work procedures and safety procedures.

Ability to work autonomously as well as in a collaborative team.

Problem solving acumen.

About You:

Physically fit and able to lift up to perform manual handling tasks.

Ability to visually see all colours (cannot be colourblind)

Excellent quality control and high attention for detail

Mechanical aptitude

-

High regard for safety

-

Must have reliable transport.

Eligible Australian working rights.

- Eager to complete a Printing Apprenticeship (Trade Cert Qualification) - which is all done on the job including the learning modules (in collaboration with our internal RTO).
