We are looking for full time Automotive Electrician (Field Based) to provide continued support to our growing customer base. You will ensure the Microlise product portfolio is fully integrated into the customer’s assets; the installation, service and support of our product suite and peripherals within the Melbourne/Victoria region.

What will you be doing?

- Timely visits to customer sites within the Victoria region to undertake the installation, service and support of Microlise products
- Using test equipment to locate electrical and electronic malfunctions
- Dismantling and removing electrical and electronic assemblies and components
- Installing electrical equipment and electronic components in motor vehicles
- Connecting power-operated vehicle equipment and accessories to power supply
- Adjusting engine control systems and timing
- Testing and replacing defective alternators, generators, voltage regulators and starter motors
- Repairing and replacing faulty ignition and electrical wiring
- Replacing defective parts such as fuses, lamps and switches
- Completing survey visits and identifying suitable solutions
- Completing QA visits on Microlise products and peripherals in customer assets
- Responsible for the upkeep and safety of your vehicle and all provided tools /equipment
- Provide support to your peers and contractor resource where required
- Ensure administration is concise, accurate and professional
- Adhere to all internal process and procedures
- Report on statistical information when required

What are we looking for?

- Demonstrable experience working as a Automotive Electrician
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of telematics products; installation and services e.g. driver tablets, cameras, on-board diagnostics, GPS, etc
- Full Driving Licence and flexibility for travel
- Experience of working to Service Level Agreements and Operational Schedules
- Understanding of vehicle wiring diagrams and ability to interpret these
- Evidence of strong customer service skills with a professional approach
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adjust style to relevant audiences
- Be able to work autonomously, solve problems independently and adhere to agreed processes
- Take pride in what you do ensuring quality and accuracy
- Valid Passport for travel

Working Pattern

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. Our technicians work a Monday-Friday pattern, with occasional requirements for late or weekend work. Travel and staying away may be a possibility dependant on customer demand.
