Overview

We are seeking to appoint an experienced careers counsellor to join our dynamic Future Pathways team from 2026. This permanent, part time position (0.8 FTE) provides an opportunity for a certified careers counsellor to provide high-quality and impartial course, career and pathways guidance to students. This role involves delivering one-on-one careers counselling, course advice, and liaison with families, employers, and community services. Alongside this, you will support the management and administration of key careers education events, projects and major programs.

Role and responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality, impartial careers guidance and related services to students, including one-on-one counselling, course advice and liaison with families, employers and community services. You will also support the management and administration of key careers education events, projects and major programs.

The successful applicant will have

- Values of excellence, respect, responsibility and reverence
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, marked by integrity and compassion
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
- Experience in career counselling, preferably in a high school or educational setting
- Excellent knowledge of the Australian education system, vocational pathways, and current job market trends
- Solid understanding of global work trends and international tertiary application processes
- Well-developed IT, organisational and time management skills
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in Career Development/Education, Counselling, Psychology, or a related field
- Relevant qualifications and/or training in child safety and wellbeing
- Current Working with Children check (Employee) or VIT
