About the role As a proud Thiess company, MACA will provide specialist civil construction services at a greenfield copper mine in North West Queensland, located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People. MACA is seeking a HD Fitter with Civil experience to join our team working on this exciting new project on a 2:1 roster. Locals in North West Queensland, including Members of the Kalkadoon community and other First Nations people, are highly encouraged to apply for this role on a BIBO basis. Depending on the successful candidate and the candidate’s location, the role can also be offered on a FIFO roster from either Townsville or Brisbane with accommodation on site. Responsibilities - Perform the servicing, repair and maintenance of mobile fleet and ancillary equipment - Complete general maintenance, breakdowns, services and component change outs to a high standard - Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM and computer base systems - Set and maintain high housekeeping standards - Carry out pre-start checks - Effectively work and communicate with other team members to prioritise tasks and achieve deadlines - Be highly motivated with the ability to work independently - Maintain a safety-conscious attitude at all times About you - Australian Trade Certificate (Mechanical Engineering Trade) - Experience working on Civil / Mining projects - Strong diagnostic and fault-finding experience - White Card - Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology highly advantageous - Pass Pre-employment medical and National Police Check About us At Thiess, we partner with our clients to deliver excellence in open cut and underground mining in Australia, Asia and the Americas.
