Role

Shift Manager (PM shift) — Laverton facility, Melbourne. This role is part of our transformation and growth journey in the region and leads a high-performing team to deliver safe, compliant and efficient warehouse and transport outcomes.

About the Role

As Shift Manager, you will be at the forefront of Laverton site operations—leading a high-performing team to deliver safe, compliant and efficient warehouse and transport outcomes. Your leadership will ensure we exceed customer expectations while managing operational KPIs, cost performance and continuous improvement. This role spans the full operational scope — including Inbound, Production and Outbound departments — and is central to maintaining a strong service culture across a multi-temperature facility.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead daily warehouse operations and coordinate activity across teams to execute the site plan.
- Ensure safety standards, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), FSANZ, HACCP and food compliance requirements are embedded and maintained.
- Drive customer satisfaction through accurate, on-time delivery and effective issue resolution.
- Manage labour plans, MHE operations, inventory integrity and service-level KPIs.
- Develop team capability through 1:1s, performance feedback, and succession planning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Operations, Safety, HR, Engineering, Transport and Finance.
- Monitor financial performance including storage, handling and labour cost efficiencies.
- Provide accurate daily reporting and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Bring

- Experience in logistics/transport operations, ideally within retail distribution or FMCG.
- Proven experience managing a multi-temperature environment.
- Deep operational knowledge in inbound, production and outbound logistics.
- Strong commercial acumen, with an understanding of profit/loss, KPIs and labour cost control.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of building engaged, high-performing teams.
- Clear communication and confident stakeholder management—both internal and external.
- Sound knowledge of compliance, food safety, traffic management, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in WMS, TMS, and Microsoft Office.
