Responsibilities

The Director, Office of the Commissioner and Associate Commissioner, is responsible for providing strategic and executive administration advice to the Commissioner, Associate Commissioner, and the Executive Management Group. The Director is the central lead for cross-agency and Ministerial liaison. The Director, through leadership and management, ensures the effective flow of information, advice and support necessary for the Commissioner and Associate Commissioner to fulfil their statutory and leadership responsibilities.

The key duties of the position include

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Provide high-level strategic, policy and operational advice and analysis to the Commissioner and Associate Commissioner
- Manage the daily operations and staffing of the Office of the Commissioner and Associate Commissioner, ensuring a high standard of professionalism, confidentiality and responsiveness
- Lead and mentor staff in the Office of the Commissioner and Associate Commissioner to ensure performance excellence and alignment with the NDIS Commission's cultural principles, values and priorities
- Design the branch workflow and ensure continuous business improvement activities to ensure the effective operation of the Office of the Commissioner and Associate Commissioner
- Anticipate and manage emerging issues and risks to the Commissioner and Associate Commissioner's priorities and work responsibilities
- Draft briefs on complex and sensitive matters and coordinate requests for information on behalf of the Office of the Commissioner and Associate Commissioner
- Manage complex internal and external stakeholder relationships to drive shared outcomes and ensure alignment of government priorities and Commission objectives
- Oversee the management of the Commissioner and Associate Commissioner/'s stakeholder engagement activities, including liaising directly with the Minister/'s Office to coordinate communications, meetings, and information
- Lead strategic projects, as directed by the Commissioner and Associate Commissioner.
