Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Bupaoptical Full time
Overview

Bupa is an international healthcare group which has been committed to a purpose of longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world for more than 70 years. In Australia and New Zealand, Bupa supports more than 5 million customers through a broad range of health and care services including health insurance, aged care, rehabilitation, dental, optical, medical, hearing and medical visa services.

The Enterprise Architect (EA) – Health & Care leads the enterprise architecture domain space for capabilities and technologies that enable how Bupa delivers health and care experiences to customers of all types. This includes platform capabilities for health services (optical, dental, hearing), clinical systems, digital healthcare systems, aged care systems, and the Connected Care ecosystem.

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Architecture, the role holder will be a team player with self-starting, proactive and dynamic behaviours. Working with product, planning and portfolio stakeholders across the domain from technology and business teams, the EA plays an important stewardship role in developing roadmaps / viable pathways towards target states. The EA works in partnership with colleagues in the solution and engineering practices, sharing accountability for realising the target state intent through the delivery and production of solutions.

Responsibilities

- Develop enterprise-wide domain capability and technology target states, consulting with the appropriate colleagues and stakeholders across the enterprise.

- Develop the architectural alignment to Bupa customer and business lenses, using insights and consultation with Bupa colleagues and experts.

- Develop, maintain and iterate high-quality architectural artefacts that meet the needs of the diverse audiences, using standard tools and formats.

- Work with the Head of Enterprise Architecture and the Architecture Practice Manager to co-design and improve artefact formats in a way that best serves the users and needs.

- Lead the implementation of architectural principles for standard patterns and reusable, enterprise-wide designs. Adhere to mandatory and "by design" principles in the architecture development – e.g. Security, AI.

- Comply with the Architecture governance mechanisms to ensure traceability, auditability and transparency of high-quality architectural decisions. Work with the Head of Enterprise Architecture and Architecture Practice Manager to improve the governance mechanisms where appropriate.

- Partner with the Product, Solution, Engineering and Delivery practices to ensure that the domain enterprise architecture accounts for their needs, balancing the need for target state adherence with the feasibility of delivery and achievement of the architectural intent in execution and production.

- Provide architecture consulting services such as technology scanning, investment idea qualification, feasibility assessments and pre-sales / tender support activities.

- Provide technology thought leadership to inform innovation opportunities, from continuous improvement to business development.

Qualifications, Training and Experience

- At least 10+ years experience as an architecture practitioner, with preference for experience across the span of enterprise, solution and engineering.

- At least 5+ years direct experience working with Health technology and systems, either within e.g. hospital/clinical/residential and care-delivery, or in the Digital healthcare environment.

- Appropriate experience as an Enterprise Architect within a large corporate environment or in a top tier consulting practice.

- Professional qualifications – appropriate certifications in architecture practice, analysis and design.

- Experience working within matrix structures, with demonstrated ability to broker outcomes effectively and collaboratively with colleagues and peers.

- Experience working with architecture design, modelling and documentation toolsets, ideally Ardoq / Hopex.

- Ideally, experience working with Service Now platforms for standardised capability models.

- Experience managing budgets, planning and optimisation.
