The Role

As our Coordinator Emergency Management and Resilience, you will lead our team that is responsible for delivering on Council’s emergency management, fire prevention and climate resilience responsibilities. You will support the organisation and the community to be prepared for, and resilient to disasters and the impacts of the changing climate.

In this varied role, you will provide strategic direction, support and leadership to the team and cultivate a positive team culture. You will oversee development of strategies and plans, maintain productive partnerships with stakeholders and the community and ensure delivery of externally funded projects.

About You

To be successful in this leadership position, you will have relevant experience managing a team to deliver outcomes and have extensive knowledge, experience and qualifications in emergency management or community development including an understanding of the role local government plays in the various phases or emergencies.

An understanding of community development principles and frameworks is essential, as well as excellent relationship building and communication skills together with strategic planning and project management skills.

A satisfactory police check and employee Working with Children Check are required for this position.
