It is a fine dining restaurant that serves authentic Indian Cuisine operating 7 days a week. Our Philosophy is to maintain the food and service quality at the highest possible level. We are seeking a Full-time chef with minimum 38 hours per week to join us. Benefits Successful candidate will be paid a salary between $75,000 to $80,000 yearly plus minimum guaranteed superannuation depending upon experience and skills. Task & responsibilities Manage the operations of kitchen. Plan, organise, supervise and monitor food preparation at all stages of cooking. Full operational knowledge of all recipes, standards, portion, sizes and presentation styles of dishes produced within the kitchen. Ensure quality and quantity of food produced. Supervise, lead and advice kitchen staff on cooking procedures. Develop and plan menus and daily specials. Create preparation lists for kitchen crew. Plan, collect, estimate food and commodities for menus. Preparing menus, recipes and task sheets. Lead, mentor and manage culinary teams. Maintain hygiene in kitchen and ensure adherence to hygiene/occupational health and safety regulations. Maintain effective communications with stakeholders for the efficient business performance. Preparing speciality food as per customer cultural requirement, restaurant specials and dietary requirements. Manage storage of food and preservation to reduce wastage. Manage food costing and inventory. Ensure proper food portioning and presentation. Maintain product, service and market knowledge. Take regular feedback from patrons and implementing it for the betterment of business. Estimate and order supplies and raw materials as per kitchen requirement. Participate in selection, training and scheduling of staff as needed. Qualification & experience Minimum one year work experience as chef Minimum certificate iv in commercial cookery/Relevant qualifications Confident, friendly and can-do attitude Australian work experience preferred Have a passion for well-executed food Be a team player with a collaborative working style.
