Your new Company

Join a market-leading business that has been setting the benchmark in road transport tanker manufacturing for over 70 years. With a supportive and experienced engineering team, you’ll be part of a workplace that values innovation, precision, and continual improvement. This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge designs and play a pivotal role in delivering quality products to market.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, as a Design Engineer, you will develop and produce detailed engineering designs, drawings, and documentation that support efficient manufacturing and meet customer requirements. Collaborating closely with Sales, Production, and other engineers, your role will involve preparing full Bills of Materials, conducting FEA analysis, and driving continuous improvements in product design and engineering processes.

- Developing models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD to meet ADR compliance;
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve design challenges and improve product quality;
- Maintaining up-to-date engineering records and files, both electronic and hard copy;
- Supporting production with technical guidance and documentation as needed; and
- Participating in engineering and company improvement programs.

What you need to succeed

- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering;
- Minimum 2 years’ post study on the job experience in design engineering or drafting;
- Strong CAD skills with SolidWorks expertise; knowledge of PDM and AutoCAD;
- Strong time management, communication, and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to interpret complex technical data and produce accurate designs; and
- Live local to Melbourne’s North & seeking a long term career move.

What you’ll get in return

- Competitive salary package reflecting your skills and experience;
- Opportunity to work in a highly regarded company with strong market presence and heritage;
- Special projects allocated for separate paid work for those interested;
- Hands-on role with diverse projects and the chance to contribute to product innovation; and
- Convenient location, stable & permanent opportunity allowing for career growth, upskilling and a fantastic team environment.
