Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve developing detailed project plans using modern methodologies, ensuring that every aspect of each initiative is carefully monitored from inception through completion. You will lead cross-functional teams and proactively identify risks that could impact delivery. Additionally, you will play an active role in driving continuous improvements by seeking out opportunities for process optimisation.

Key responsibilities

- Develop, implement, monitor, and manage comprehensive project plans using contemporary methodologies to ensure successful outcomes.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective communication throughout each stage of the project or program lifecycle.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams by coordinating resources efficiently, prioritising activities based on their impact and urgency to achieve project milestones.
- Identify potential risks or issues early in the project process and develop robust contingency plans to mitigate them effectively.
- Prepare detailed status reports, financial summaries, and other essential project documentation for governance bodies and key stakeholders.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process enhancements by identifying areas for improvement and recommending practical solutions to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Facilitate regular meetings with team members and stakeholders to track progress, address challenges, and celebrate achievements.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and relevant legislative requirements throughout all phases of project delivery.
- Support knowledge sharing within the team by documenting lessons learned and best practices for future reference.
- Champion a collaborative approach by encouraging open dialogue, feedback, and shared problem-solving among all participants.

What you bring

- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects within a public sector environment.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, complex projects involving multiple concurrent deliverables within agreed timelines.
- Exceptional communication skills enabling you to engage stakeholders at all levels through clear messaging, negotiation techniques, and compelling presentations.
- Expertise in prioritising tasks under pressure while consistently meeting deadlines in environments characterised by change or uncertainty.
- A proven ability to motivate teams towards achieving results while nurturing a collaborative culture built on trust and mutual respect.
- Analytical thinking skills that allow you to adapt quickly when priorities shift or unexpected challenges arise during project execution.
- Experience preparing comprehensive reports, financial summaries, and documentation tailored for various audiences including governance bodies.
- A commitment to continuous improvement demonstrated by identifying inefficiencies or bottlenecks and proposing actionable solutions.
- Familiarity with contemporary project management methodologies such as Agile or PRINCE2 is highly regarded but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to build rapport quickly with diverse groups of people both inside and outside the organisation.
