Location of work: ACT

Working arrangements type: Hybrid

Working arrangements: Preference to spend at least 3 days a week in the office in order to liaise with team and stakeholders directly.

Maximum hours: 40 hours per week

Security clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline

Job details: The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) is seeking experienced Business Analysts (2–3 roles available depending on projects and budget). The Business Analysts will report to the Director – Enterprise Platforms and Project Manager/s, and work with IT project teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to deliver effective analysis and business solutions.

Responsibilities

- Business analysis and business solution design
- Development of high level, detailed, functional, and non-functional requirements, user cases, and scenarios
- Analysis and mapping of business processes, user pathways, and information flows
- Acting as the conduit between business stakeholders, project teams, and IT resources to deliver outcomes.
- Contribution to continuous improvement activities across IT

Mandatory

- Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering business analyst services for government (federal or state)
- Demonstrated experience in technical writing including requirements, guidelines, and process maps
- Highly developed communication skills including prioritisation, problem solving, and relationship building
- Relevant business analyst certification
- Experience delivering solutions supporting legislative changes
- Experience delivering change in vessel safety or similar regulatory functions (e.g. road, air, maritime)

Desirable

- Experience in incident, emergency or first responder management
- Experience contributing to business blueprinting or non-technical outcome documentation
- Experience facilitating scrums using Azure DevOps
- Experience with Dynamics365, SmartIQ, HTML forms, identity management services, or portals
