Electrician or Mechanic / Track Machine Operator

Roster: FIFO 2 weeks on / 1 week off
Location: FIFO ex Perth or residential to Port Hedland
Employment Type: Full Time

About the Role

Join our dynamic rail resurfacing team as a Track Machine Operator Operate specialised machinery, perform maintenance and repairs, respond to breakdowns, and ensure peak performance. Travel to various sites throughout the Pilbara, work closely with your crew, and grow your skills in the rail industry every day.

Skills & experience

- Cert II Rail Infrastructure (minimum)

- Track Machine Operator (TLIC2054) (TLIC3045)

- Trade-qualified in either mechanical or electrical field

- Full C Class Driving Licence or higher with no restrictions (HR Licence preferred but not essential)

- Construction Card (white/blue)

- 4WD Training

- Proven experience as a Track Machine Operator

- Previous experience operating 09-3x Tamper & Unimat 4S Tampers

- Previous exposure to mining or remote work environments desirable

- Experience maintaining and servicing track machines

- Background in rail resurfacing equipment

- Ability complete and pass Rail Category 1 Rail Medical and drug and alcohol testing

Duties & responsibilities

- Travel to multiple job sites as part of a mobile rail operations team

- Carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance to reduce machine downtime

- Operate advanced rail resurfacing equipment in accordance with safety standards

- Assist in multi-trade tasks and collaborate with maintenance crews

- Accurately document inspections, faults, and maintenance activities

- Conduct regular machinery checks and performance testing

- Diagnose issues and perform hands‑on mechanical and electrical repairs

- Respond promptly to breakdowns and support urgent repair work

- Uphold compliance with all company policies and industry regulations

- Actively engage in on‑the‑job learning to build rail‑specific expertise
