The purpose of the role is to oversee, develop and implement legislative projects, policy positions and documents, traceability reforms, compliance interventions and traceability enforcement processes.

About the role

Help administer primary produce traceability requirements to maintain Tasmania’s reputation for high quality, safe produce.

- Lead traceability projects including planning, reporting and stakeholder consultation.
- Provide expert advice on policy application and service delivery.
- Monitor NLIS compliance and support enforcement campaigns.
- Draft high-level policy documents, ministerial briefs, and strategic recommendations.
- Represent the Department in national pilots and cross-agency initiatives.
- Manage staff training and development in traceability systems.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Period of appointment

Until June 2026 (or until the return of the substantive whichever is earliest).
