Council is seeking a qualified and experienced mechanic to support the day-to-day operations involved in the maintenance and repair of fleet within the Workshop. This role involves carrying out a range of maintenance activities, including the inspection and servicing of heavy plant and equipment, trucks, and light vehicles, as well as diagnosing and rectifying faults both in the workshop and on-site. The successful applicant will have extensive experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy earthmoving plant and machinery, along with the ability to implement and maintain an effective preventative maintenance program for all fixed and mobile plant assets.
* At times this position will be required to assist at other workshop locations within Council, for leave cover and/or workloads.
Mandatory qualifications
- Minimum requirement of a current MR driver’s licence
- General Safety Induction for Construction Worker (White Card)
- HR drivers licence and/or Forklift ticket (Desirable)
- Understanding chain of responsibilities with knowledge of NHVR (Desirable)
