The Opportunity:
The Therapeutic Counsellor will work within a dedicated and caring multidisciplinary team to provide ongoing therapeutic counselling, treatment and support to young people, develop and maintain appropriate referral pathways, and work with other services in the Primary Care setting. This role seeks to address mental illness and is inclusive of all gender orientations, cultural considerations and socio-economic demographics.

About you:
- Tertiary degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or similar with eligibility for registration to appropriate governing body (AASW, AHPRA, PACFA etc)
- Experience in providing therapeutic interventions to support young peoples mental health, as well as their carers and families
- A demonstrated understanding of mental health assessments, referrals, and coordination of care for young people
- Demonstrated ability to work holistically with young people with mental health and drug and alcohol issues including indigenous, refugee, CALD and low socio-economic background
- Experience working independently in regional areas
- Current registration with a relevant professional association
- 2 years+ experience
