City of Melbourne, Australia ShopBack group Full time

Our Journey

ShopBack began in 2014 as a late-night spark of inspiration between Henry and Joel — not just to build a Cashback platform, but to reimagine how brands and consumers connect. As former advertisers, they understood the limitations of traditional marketing, and saw an opportunity to deliver more value on both sides. That idea quickly turned into action, and the first prototype was built over a weekend with the other co-founders. Today, ShopBack serves over 50 million users across 13 markets, partners with 20,000+ merchants, and powers over half a million transactions daily. We're building The World’s Most Rewarding Way to Shop — and looking for bold, driven individuals to join us.

At ShopBack, we’re changing the way Aussies shop. With more than 3.5 million members, we’ve built one of the most trusted cashback platforms in the country. Now we’re taking it even further with ShopBack Snap, the fastest-growing retail media product helping CPG brands see and influence sales across every retailer in Australia.

What is ShopBack Snap

ShopBack Snap gives everyday Aussies the power to scan their receipts from Woolworths, Coles, Chemist Warehouse, ALDI, IGA, Costco, Kmart, Bunnings, UberEATS, Shell, Priceline, Ampol and more than 100 other retailers. Behind it sits world‑class technology that connects online and offline spend to give CPG brands a complete view of their customers and the tools to reach them in smarter ways.

With Snap, brands can recruit new households, launch new products and win those key shopping moments across grocery, convenience, liquor and more. It’s fast, data‑driven and already redefining what retail media looks like in Australia.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to lead new brand acquisition across FMCG and CPG. You’ll be at the front line meeting, pitching and closing partnerships with some of Australia’s biggest and most loved brands across snacks, beverages, alcohol, pantry, dairy and personal care.

You’ll manage a portfolio of more than 200 potential brands, helping them understand the value of ShopBack Snap and bringing them onto the platform through data‑led, insight‑driven campaigns.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a new product environment, enjoys solving commercial challenges and wants to help shape a product that’s scaling rapidly across Australia.

What You’ll Do

- Manage the full sales cycle from sourcing to closing new CPG partnerships

- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of mid‑market and enterprise FMCG brands

- Use insights and data to design campaigns that deliver measurable sales growth for partners

- Educate and influence key stakeholders within marketing, media and category teams

- Partner with internal product, data and marketing teams to continuously improve Snap’s offer

- Help shape how Snap grows across categories and brands in its next phase

What We’re Looking For

- 6+ years of business development or sales experience in FMCG, retail media or ad tech

- Strong relationships across the CPG landscape including shopper marketing, brand and media agency contacts

- A proven track record of exceeding targets and building partnerships from the ground up

- A natural storyteller who can translate data into clear commercial outcomes

- Comfortable in a fast‑moving environment where systems and priorities evolve quickly

- Curious, ambitious and excited to help define the future of retail media in Australia

- Demonstrated use of Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Cursor) to develop new or improve workflows, enhance productivity, and drive efficiency at scale.

Why Join Us

- This is a rare chance to help build one of Australia’s next major retail media products from the ground up. You’ll have ownership, visibility and access to the best data and technology in the market, supported by a brand Australians already know and love.
