JOB DESCRIPTION: Are you a strategic ICT leader ready to shape the future of technology in one of Western Australia’s most respected institutions?

The Parliamentary Services Department is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead our Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Unit. This is an opportunity to join the Executive Management Group and play a pivotal role in delivering innovative, secure, and reliable ICT services to support the operations of Parliament and its Members. This appointment is offered as a two-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension.

About the Role

As CIO, you will lead the delivery of ICT services across the Parliamentary Precinct, supporting the Parliamentary Departments and Members of Parliament in their work at Parliament House. You will manage a skilled team of 17 professionals and oversee both daily operations and a transformative multi-year ICT roadmap.

Key responsibilities include:

- Driving strategic ICT planning and infrastructure development.
- Leading the implementation of new systems and technologies.
- Managing stakeholder engagement and change communication.
- Ensuring robust cybersecurity and compliance with industry standards.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

- Proven leadership in delivering customer-focused ICT services aligned with best practices.
- Strong people management and team leadership skills fostering a client-centric culture.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication abilities.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a track record of innovation.
- In-depth understanding of contemporary ICT practices in complex environments.
- Experience applying industry standards and best practices.
- Sound knowledge of current cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic ICT plans.
- Strong project management skills.

Highly Desirable:

- Tertiary qualifications in Information Systems, ICT, or a related discipline.
- Recognised professional ICT certifications.
