What you’ll do

- Provide high-quality, evidence-based in-person counselling to carers through individual and group modalities, supporting wellbeing, reducing stress, anxiety, and low mood, and enhancing resilience.

- Deliver collaborative, flexible, and person-centred counselling plans based on assessments, risk evaluations, and client goals.

- Conduct wellbeing screenings and maintain clinical case notes, client, and administrative records.

- Use evidence-based therapies such as Person-Centred Therapy and CBT, incorporating additional modalities like strengths-based approaches, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy as appropriate.

- Deliver group programs addressing general wellbeing, skills training, or specific needs.

Details:

- Contract until 30/6/2025

- 3 days per week

- Based at Katoomba

- Salary: approximately $48 - $54 per hour (depending on skills & experience) + 12% super, 17.5% leave loading, and tax-free salary packaging up to $15,900.

What you'll bring:

- Tertiary qualification in psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, or social work

- Registration with APHRA, AASW, PACFA, or ACA (Level 3 or 4)

- Minimum 3 years post-qualification counselling experience

- Experience with group interventions, facilitation skills, risk assessment, and crisis management

- Understanding of inclusive, person-centred, and trauma-informed practices for diverse populations

- Demonstrated competence in Person-Centred and CBT; additional training in facilitation and approaches is desirable

- Lived experience is highly valued
