Founded in 2019, Henne is a proudly Australian fashion brand driven by a clear vision and the continued leadership of our founding team. We’ve cultivated a workplace culture that values creativity, openness, and genuine collaboration. At Henne, our people are at the core of everything we do. As we grow, our commitment to investing in our team remains unwavering—because we know that our success is made possible by the passionate individuals who embody our brand and values every day.

At Henne, we’re redefining contemporary womenswear with purpose, precision, and a strong sense of identity. We’re looking for a talented and trend-driven Senior Designer to bring a bold yet commercial perspective to our collections.

As a Senior Designer at Henne, you’ll be central to shaping and evolving the creative direction of specific categories within our collections. You’ll be responsible for balancing trend leadership with commercial success — from concept to execution.

This role offers ownership, creative freedom, and close collaboration with our passionate in-house team, including Garment Technicians, Planners, and fellow Senior and Junior Designers.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the design direction for assigned categories.
- Research and source innovative fabrics, trims, and hardware solutions.
- Lead seasonal and category-specific trend forecasting.
- Conduct global and local market research and competitor analysis.
- Provide creative input and ideas for product drops, best-seller evolutions, and key fabric extensions.
- Stay inspired by runways, street style, social media, and emerging global platforms.
- Create sketches, concepts, and detailed tech packs for new styles.
- Partner with Garment Technicians and suppliers throughout the fitting and sampling process.
- Approve lab dips, fabrics, and trims — maintaining the Henne standard.
- Work with Merchandise Planning on post-season analysis and product opportunity planning.
- Analyse sales data to drive decisions on repeat styles and product improvements.
- Maintain concept boards and a comprehensive design archive.
- Explore new mills, fabrications, and suppliers to continuously enhance our range.
- Identify opportunities for colourway extensions, fabric consolidation, and creative reuse.
- Mentor and coach to our junior and mid-level designers in building their skills through regular feedback, pairing sessions, and constructive design critiques.
- Be a role model for the team in demonstrating best practices in design process, communication, and collaboration, setting the standard for how the team works together.
- Supporting the continued growth of our team, identifying opportunities for team members to stretch into new areas of responsibility, helping them progress in their careers.
- Ooze the Henne culture and values, contributing towards to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture by encouraging open dialogue, celebrating wins, and fostering psychological safety.

KEY SKILLS

- 7+ years of experience in fashion design, ideally within womenswear.
- Deep understanding of fabrication and textiles, with a strong ability to apply this to commercial product development.
- Experience working with denim and/or knitwear is highly regarded.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to guide, inspire and bring teams together.
- A keen eye for process improvement and enhancement; knows what exceptional ways of working look and feel like, with the ability to influence effectively.
- Clear and confident communicator, comfortable collaborating across departments.
