About the role

As our Therapeutic Caseworker and Group Facilitator, you’ll provide trauma-informed therapeutic support to children, young people, and their protective parents who have experienced domestic and family violence.

You’ll play a key role in delivering individual casework and facilitating group programs that promote healing, safety, and recovery.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll advocate for victim survivors, assess and respond to risk, and collaborate across sectors to ensure culturally safe and holistic support. You’ll:

- Facilitate group programs such as Women Choice and Change and Connected Kids and Families – 8 week program to support female victim survivors of DFSV

- Apply person-centred, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approaches to all interventions

- Assess and manage risks, develop safety plans, and ensure compliance with legislative requirements

- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to support safety and wellbeing

The details:

- Part time, 3 days a week (some evening work required)

- Maximum term contract – 8 months

- Broadmeadow office (Hunter region)

- $48 - $54 per hour (depending on skills & experience) +12% super + 17.5% leave loading and tax‑free salary packaging up to $15,900.

What you’ll bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a related discipline

- Minimum 2 years’ experience providing therapeutic casework and group facilitation for families impacted by DFV

- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, child development, and the gendered nature of violence

- Ability to assess and respond to risk of harm, including knowledge of relevant legislation and information‑sharing protocols
