Overview

YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) provides fun, stimulating and safe care for primary and secondary school children before and after school. OSHC offers opportunities in cooking, sport, music, art, dance and more.

We are currently recruiting for OSHC Educators on a casual basis to join our YMCA Loganholme Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service.

About the service

YMCA Loganholme Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is located within the Loganholme State School grounds in a brand-new double-spaced room. With 135 spaces, the service is growing and celebrates the uniqueness of all who surround us. We aim to give each child their own voice and freedom of play each day.

Our service philosophy prioritises community and belonging, children’s agency and the importance of spontaneous, multi-age play in middle childhood. We offer a range of planned and spontaneous play experiences for children and welcome educators with unique skill sets to share with children.

About the role

As an OSHC Educator you are responsible for the care of children before school, after school and during school holiday periods. You’ll assist in running engaging, fun-filled and educational activities with primary school children, such as science experiments, outdoor games, painting and musical activities.

Our children and Educators bring our inclusive space to life, ensuring our program is engaging with a range of planned and spontaneous play experiences.

Am I a good match?

- You are currently studying or have completed a Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor degree in the field of children’s services or similar

- You have a fantastic sense of fun and a tremendous imagination

- You hold or are willing to obtain a current First Aid and CPR certification

- You hold a Positive Notice Blue Card or are willing to obtain one
