Applications for this pool close at midday on Monday, 17 November 2025. Job Description Trainee Horticulturists undertake on‑the‑job learning alongside BGPA’s operational teams. They will manage and maintain the living plant collections, gardens and parklands at Kings Park and Bold Park while studying a Certificate II or III in Horticulture through a nominated RTO. Working as a Trainee involves frequent, often strenuous physical activity, teamwork, and interpersonal and written communication skills. Successful applicants must pass a physical and medical assessment before appointment. Please note: - Individuals who already hold a Certificate III or higher in Horticulture or Conservation and Ecosystem Management, or their equivalents, are ineligible. - Traineeships at Certificate II are 12 months, with possible extension of 18 months if progressing to Certificate III. - Traineeships at Certificate III are 18 months. In this role you will demonstrate Personal Leadership to drive positive change. Selection Criteria - Successful completion of Year 10. - Demonstrated good written and interpersonal communication skills. - Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of horticulture. - Strong work ethic with willingness to undertake manual work as part of a team. - Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the Western Australian flora.
