Stantec is a world leader in environmental management in the energy and resources sector. Due to exciting growth in our Environment business, we are looking for Intermediate & Senior Botanists to work in our passionate Flora & Vegetation Team. We support relocation to WA from the East Coast of Australia.

Role

Based in our Perth office, the Flora & Vegetation Team are experts in undertaking comprehensive detailed flora and vegetation surveys, targeted significant species surveys, technical reporting, and impact assessments across remote bioregions of Western Australia.

As part of the Flora & Vegetation Team, you will:

- Undertake flora and vegetation surveys across diverse environments.

- Analyse ecological data and prepare clear, concise technical reports.

- Liaise with technical and subject matter experts.

- Prepare proposals, budgets and tender documents.

- Receive mentoring to develop technical skills and drive career progression.

- Expand knowledge across disciplines including terrestrial fauna, aquatic & marine ecology, mine closure, remote sensing and environmental approvals.

To be successful in the role you will need:

- Tertiary qualification in biological, environmental science or a related discipline.

- Minimum of two years related experience in undertaking flora and vegetation surveys, ideally with an environmental consultancy.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting skills.

- The desire and ability to undertake field work.

- Ability to work well in a team environment and embrace innovation.

- Taxonomic experience will be seen as beneficial but not essential.
