Are you passionate about safety, health and injury management – and ready to make a real difference across some of Australia’s most vital and remote services? The Royal Flying Doctor Service SA/NT is seeking an Advisor to join our dynamic Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) team. As a key player in our high-performing and values-driven organisation, you’ll help deliver safe, compliant, and continuously improving services across South Australia and the Northern Territory — spanning clinical operations, aeromedical transport, infrastructure, and remote site services.
- Lead the implementation of integrated SHEQ frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Provide expert advice, support and training on Work Health and Safety (WHS), environmental compliance, and quality systems.
- Partner with leaders across clinical, aviation, and maintenance teams to drive a proactive safety culture.
- Oversee injury management services and provide RTW Coordination activities.
- Support the establishment of an early intervention program.
- Support incident investigations, audits, hazard assessments, and accreditation processes.
- Contribute to the delivery of wellbeing and manage return-to-work programs.
- Be a hands-on, solutions-focused professional balancing strategic priorities with operational realities.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in occupational health and safety and injury management in high-risk industries, who thrives in complexity and is passionate about protecting people, the environment, and the communities we serve.

- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation for Work Health and Safety and Environmental legislative requirements.
- Experience in supporting/conducting remote and regional operations.
- Effective collaboration skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
Experience in Incident investigation experience would be advantageous, however, not essential.
