What you’ll be doing

As an Assistant in Midwifery, you’ll work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Midwife/Nurse to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to mothers and babies. You’ll play an important role in supporting daily care needs and contributing to positive patient experiences.

- Assist with activities of daily living to promote comfort and independence
- Support the maternity team in providing high-quality care to women and newborns
- Recognise and promptly report changes in a patient’s condition to the supervising midwife/nurse
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with NSW Health standards
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and respectful team culture

Selection Criteria

1. Current and ongoing enrolment in a Bachelor of Nursing/Midwifery and completion of Year 1 of academic and clinical placement studies or completion of Certificate III Assistant in Nursing
2. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
3. Demonstrated ability to use information technology systems
4. Proven ability to be self-motivated, flexible and adaptive as clinical needs arise, and still remain within the scope of practice of an AIN
