About the Position
This opportunity is ideal for a motivated Insurance Lawyer or Senior Associate looking to deepen their expertise in public liability and recovery claims while working in a progressive and well‑supported environment. You’ll join a nationally respected litigation practice that regularly handles complex and high‑value matters. Reporting to a Partner, you’ll play a key role in managing files from start to finish, engaging directly with expert counsel and contributing to strategy, advocacy and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end litigation files across public liability and recovery matters
- Draft legal advice, indemnity and liability assessments and strategic recommendations
- Prepare statements, letters of demand, court documentation and settlement deeds
- Brief and instruct counsel, liaise with independent experts and appear at court and mediation
- Coach junior team members and support seasonal clerks during their rotations
- Build trusted relationships with clients, demonstrating commercial acumen and professionalism
Key Requirements
- 5+ years PAE in insurance, litigation or recoveries (plaintiff or defendant background)
- Admitted and holding a current practising certificate in Queensland (or eligible)
- Strong written and verbal communication, with excellent organisational skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle competing priorities with a calm and professional approach
- Experience in property‑related claims or recovery work is highly desirable
