Our client is a leading capital markets and investment group, renowned for connecting global investors to insights, liquidity, and capital that drive their investment strategies. We are seeking an Insurance and Diversified Financial Research Analyst who will be responsible for providing lead coverage of the Insurance, Insurance Brokers and Diversified Financial stocks within the Australian listed market. The analyst will provide stock recommendations based on thorough analysis, financial models, company and industry insights. The analyst must be able to present and market effectively, externally to fund managers and clients and, internally to institutional sales and sales traders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the sector and a passion for investment research and markets in general.

We welcome applicants currently working in diversified financial research (sell-side or buy-side) to apply and encourage those passionate associates ready to step up to lead coverage to apply also. We are looking for candidates with excellent knowledge an understanding of the industry and competitive landscape who possess strong analytical and financial modelling skills as well alongside writing insightful company research.

Requirements

- 3-8 years' experience as a research associate/analyst or alternatively funds management, insurance, investment banking or finance/accounting background would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of financial modelling and spreadsheet analysis
- Ability to work under pressure when required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- High level of commercial awareness
