Beca has a team of 300+ water sector specialists who are passionate about delivering technically excellent projects that help build healthy communities and sustainable outcomes throughout both urban and regional Australia. We also have the support of a larger New Zealand team with over 3000 Beca employees across the Tasman that gives us the opportunity to pursue some of the largest water infrastructure projects in Australia.

The Australian water business at Beca works across several geographies with projects and opportunities in NSW, QLD, ACT, VIC, SA, and TAS. Our clients range from D&C contractors through to direct support for utilities providers through panel positions or Owners Engineer roles.

Within Beca, there are endless opportunities and no shortage of exciting projects within the water, food and beverage, minerals and metals, forestry, energy and manufacturing, power, airports, ports & defence sectors. The Opportunity

As we continue to grow in the water sector, we are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Sydney team and contribute to our national water business. This role is ideal for someone with established experience who is looking to take the next step in their career by working on a diverse range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

You will have the opportunity to work on structural design for conveyance pipelines, hydraulic structures, pump stations, service reservoirs, and treatment facilities. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll gain exposure to end-to-end project delivery, including design, documentation, and construction phase support.

About You

With a bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering, you will have established experience in the water and wastewater sector or a related field. You have developed a solid foundation in structural design, analysis, and documentation and are eager to step into a role with more technical responsibility and client interaction.

You will also bring:

- Proven experience in structural design within a consulting or professional services environment.
- Hands-on involvement in project delivery, including scoping, detailed design, and construction phase support.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines and project teams.
- An interest in client engagement, with a willingness to strengthen existing relationships and develop new connections.
- A commitment to continuous learning and career progression, with aspirations to mentor junior engineers over time.
