Job Description The opportunity. Reporting to the Head of People, we are searching for an experienced People Partner to join our award-winning People team. With flexible hybrid working and a modern and stylish Support Office in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, this is a fantastic hands-on partnering role during an exciting period of growth and transformation. This is a fast-paced, meaningful opportunity for a capable generalist to add real value by partnering with leadership teams to provide strategic and operational guidance while remaining hands-on in day-to-day HR delivery. Partnering with several Executive Leaders and their teams, you will play an integral role in supporting the proactive management of workforce requirements, embedding culture initiatives, and supporting compliance with HR policies and employment legislation. Your key responsibilities will include: - Working closely with the Head of People to deliver people projects and initiatives within the Bank’s strategic plan. - Partnering with leaders regarding people matters to support people engagement, including employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, and recruitment. - Supporting the business and People team to deliver strategic and operational change initiatives that align to the business priorities and needs. - Build trusted relationships with business unit partners so that people programs and activities are respected, add value and drive business outcomes. - Play a lead role in overseeing and optimising our people service delivery including our offering, processes, systems and capabilities to enhance the people experience, including being an escalation point for the team. - Championing the People team within the business by leading and role modelling behaviours and outcomes, as well as coaching & mentoring team members, colleagues, and peers. - Mitigating risk by developing strategies to address people issues and managing complex cases through to resolution where needed. Desired Skills and Experience About you. Known for your broad knowledge of the employee lifecycle and customer first mindset, you have a knack for understanding and leveraging people data and insights to deliver initiatives and support operational efficiency. You’re comfortable working across all aspects of the employee lifecycle and enjoy alternating between managing and doing. More importantly you’re also a natural coach and team player who works collaboratively with others, you see the big picture while understanding how the parts fit together. Enthusiastic about change, you roll up your sleeves to do what’s needed while continuing to champion our ways of working. You have: - At least 5 years’ experience in Human Resources/People and Culture ideally within a medium-sized customer-focused corporate environment. - Tertiary qualifications in human resources. - Intermediate/advanced knowledge of contemporary human resource practices and legislation relevant to running an Australian bank. - Prior Human Resources/People and Culture experience within banking and/or financial services would be advantageous, but not essential.
