Minimum $71,020 pa + 12% super + a 9 day fortnight

- $71,020 pa (includes industry uniform allowance) + 12% super (level 3)

- Progression in remuneration is available for this position (up to Level 5 - $72,807 pa inc. allowances + 12% super) upon meeting performance and training requirements outlined in a structured framework.

- 76 hour fortnight

Join the City of Moreton Bay’s tree maintenance team and play a vital role in preserving and managing our urban tree assets. Working closely with an experienced crew leader and a small, skilled crew, you’ll be at the forefront of arboriculture services that enhance the health, safety and beauty of our public spaces.

Your primary responsibility is to ensure our urban trees remain healthy, safe and well maintained. Key tasks include:

- Tree pruning, trimming and canopy lifting to improve visibility and safety

- Removal of damaged or hazardous limbs and clearing fallen branches and debris

- Operating and maintaining equipment such as chainsaws, woodchippers and PPE in line with safety protocols

- General tree labouring across various public spaces

- Accurately documenting work completed, incidents, and observations into council systems

- Engaging professionally with the public, promoting a positive image of Council's tree maintenance teams

Your work will directly contribute to the health and safety of our urban trees, making a tangible difference in the environment, appearance, and safety of our community. This is more than a job - it’s a chance to shape the natural landscape of Moreton Bay for its communities to enjoy.

Ideally you will have recent experience performing labouring tasks related to tree maintenance. We are seeking applicants who demonstrate:

- knowledge and physical capability to perform manual tasks safely

- recent experience in a manual position

- experience maintaining trees and working with wood chippers

- excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

In addition to these skills and experience, successful candidates must possess:

- a current truck licence (minimum MR - medium rigid)

- a Construction Induction Card
