Overview
Position held within the Canberra Health Services Paediatric Gender Service (PGS) at the Canberra Hospital. This part‑time role (8 hours per week) is part of a permanent clinical team dedicated to evidence‑based care for children, young people and families experiencing gender concerns or dysphoria in the ACT and surrounding regions.

- Salary Package: Pro rata of $305,300 to $382,957, inclusive of base salary ($188,151 – $232,185), Private Practice Scheme Allowance, Medical Education Expense Allowance and 12% superannuation
- Location: The Canberra Hospital, Canberra Health Services
- Closing Date: 28 October 2025
Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality clinical assessment, intervention and support for patients undergoing gender transition or experiencing gender dysphoria within the Paediatric Gender Service.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychosocial staff, relevant medical specialists and other care team members to deliver trauma‑informed, strengths‑based care.
- Deliver evidence‑based assessment and intervention as part of the Paediatric Gender Service clinical service line.
- Report to the Clinical Director, Women, Youth and Children (reporting line may be subject to change).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Registered Specialist General Practitioner (Registration held with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
- Endorsed scope of clinical practice from the Medical Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC) and credentialing requirements met.
- Compliance with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.
- Strong evidence of clinical expertise in paediatric gender‑conscious care and ability to work within a multidisciplinary, trauma‑informed framework.
- Academic linkage with the Australian National University, University of Canberra or Australian Catholic University preferred; no remuneration attached to the university component.
