As an integral member of the Financial Control team, reporting to the Tax Manager, you will assist with ensuring compliance with statutory, taxation and other legislative requirements.

About the role

The key duties for the role include

- Preparation of Australian corporate tax returns: consolidated group and co‑operative companies including liaising with external tax advisors.
- Preparation and submission of FBT returns including working with external consultants
- Preparation and lodgementand Business Activity Statements (BAS) including arranging associated payments.
- Preparation, lodgement, and payment of monthly PAYG instalments.
- Preparation of periodic tax effect accounting including submission of reports to US parent and annual return‑to‑provision calculation.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts for the Australian business under IFRS including being the main point of contact with external auditors.
- Preparation of accounts, tax filings and other statutory requirements for the New Zealand entity.
- Preparation of quarterly cash flow forecasts.
- Assist in the design and maintenance of SOX documentation for various tax processes and performance of SOX fixed assets tests.

About You

- You will be a highly motivated and intelligent professional with previous experience in preparing statutory accounts.
- Ideally CA or CPA qualified is preferred, however can be working towards the qualification
- You will a tax generalist and have experience in both GST and FBT
- Experience of income tax and/or tax effect accounting is preferred.
- Experience in the statutory account preparation and audit process is preferred.
- Experience in tax software transformation projects would be highly regarded.
- Superior communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate in an open and clear manner.
- Ability to build strong working relationships and influence key stakeholders with an open and friendly style.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team whilst managing multiple tasks and working to deadlines.
- Energetic self‑starter with an inquiring mind and strong attention to detail.
- Proactive and hands‑on approach to problem solving
