Role and responsibilities

We’re on a mission to become Australia’s leading digital insurer—and we’re looking for a Motor Underwriter who shares our ambition. In this role, you’ll support the underwriting of our motor portfolios, applying expert judgement and leveraging digital tools to deliver exceptional customer outcomes. You’ll collaborate with distribution partners, product teams, and fellow underwriters to drive growth, innovation, and underwriting excellence. You’ll also play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives, and contributing to the evolution of our underwriting frameworks—all while helping shape the future of motor insurance in a digital-first environment.

You will also be responsible for the following:

- Underwrite and analyse renewal and new business opportunities within delegated authority levels.
- Collaborate with brokers and internal teams to deliver tailored motor insurance solutions.
- Leverage data insights and digital tools to inform pricing, coverage decisions, and risk assessments.
- Partner across Claims, Distribution, and other underwriting lines to support multi-line opportunities.
- Contribute to underwriting innovation by sharing insights and supporting proposition development.

We’re looking for an insurance professional with strong commercial acumen and a digital mindset—someone who can balance risk with opportunity, lead change, and collaborate across teams to drive underwriting excellence and innovation.

In order to be successful, you will have the following:

- Some underwriting experience, preferrable motor underwriting, or someone who has experience in motor claims or as a broker.
- Understanding of underwriting systems, digital platforms, and data analytics.
- Skilled in risk assessment using both traditional and digital methodologies.
- Effective communicator and collaborator with internal teams and external partners.
