Description New Forests seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Fund Accountant. Reporting into the Finance Manager, Fund Accounting, this role be primarily responsible for managing all fund related accounting and assisting with client reporting. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a professional looking for an exciting challenge.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Monthly, quarterly and annual fund reporting and processing for the ANZ and Emerging Markets businesses, including bookkeeping, cash/balance sheet reconciliations, and multi-currency fund consolidations

• Annual financial statement preparation and involvement in the year end audit process

• Annual budget preparation

• Calculating distributions/dividends through fund structures and out to investors

• Preparation of distribution statements and investor statements

• Assisting with performance reporting

• Building reporting to external investors

• Completing ad-hoc financial analysis for both internal and external stakeholders

• Managing accounts payable process

• Assisting the Financial Controller and Manager with financial analysis and special projects

• Evaluating, improving and streamlining reporting processes

• Contributing to Data Warehouse projects, automation initiatives, integrated reporting projects, and outsourcing initiatives

• Building expertise in the use of Sage Intacct

Qualifications, Experience and Strengths

Qualifications, Experience and Strengths We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications, experience, and strengths:

• Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in Accounting/Business or Finance

• Qualified CA or CPA

• Experience with chartered accounting firm and/or in previous fund accounting roles will be well regarded

• Experience with private equity or real assets preferred

• An understanding of trust distributions and taxation

• An understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards

• Exposure to institutional clients

• Demonstration of process improvement/re-engineering experience to improve efficiency and effectiveness

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• A team player, with strong stakeholder management skills

• Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently, whilst thriving in a team environment, working towards a common goal

• Planning mindset complimented by organization, prioritization and documentation skills

• Advanced Excel skills

• Interest in/knowledge of sustainability and impact investing well regarded

• Able to demonstrate core finance team capabilities
