Veterinarian. Central Queensland. $90k-$160k per annum. Love what you do. Live where others holiday
3 days ago
Are you an experienced vet looking for variety, lifestyle, and a genuinely supportive team? Join an independently owned, long-established clinic in the heart of Central Queensland, where you can enjoy rewarding work, a great mix of cases, and life by the beach.
Why you’ll love working here.
You’ll join a dedicated team of six vets, seven nurses, and four receptionists, all passionate about providing great care with good humour and genuine teamwork. Enjoy one day off in the week, plus one Saturday in three. Out-of-hours work is optional, ideal if you want to earn extra, not if you don’t. They offer four weeks of annual leave plus study leave, giving you the space to grow and recharge.
The team is small enough to feel close-knit, but strong enough to handle a wide variety of cases. This place has a real ‘family feel’ about it, where everyone pulls together when there’s work, and relaxes when it’s time. Decisions can be made quickly, and ideas are encouraged.
The role can either be 100% small animals or a mixed role, dependent on your passion and capability.
On the small animal front, they are looking for someone confident and capable of sole charge, comfortable with the full mix: consults, vaccinations, microchipping, medicine (internal & external), imaging, and surgery. If you enjoy orthopaedics, dentals, home visits, or wildlife, they’ll make it happen.
Got a passion for the paddock? You’ll love their large animal side: herd health, farm visits, equine surgeries, race meetings, and field work with everything from cattle and alpacas to donkeys, goats, and sheep. Every day brings something different, and always something rewarding.
Their clinics.
They operate across two well-equipped sites:
- Yeppoon – Their small animal hub for surgery and consults, featuring three consult rooms, treatment areas, ICU, separate dog and cat wards, digital radiology, ultrasound and fully stocked small and large animal pharmacies.
- Rockhampton – A dedicated equine facility with stocks stabling and surgery. A visiting specialist equine surgeon also attends the practice.
Why Central Queensland?
This is where work-life balance isn’t a buzzword it’s real. From the clinic, it’s just five minutes to golden beaches, twenty to national parks, and thirty minutes by ferry to the tropical Keppel islands.
Enjoy morning coffees two minutes from the clinic, weekend fishing or paddleboarding, local markets, beach walks, and community sport. Rockhampton is forty minutes away for shopping, dining, and events, close enough for convenience, far enough to keep your weekends peaceful.
The Capricorn Coast is hard to beat. Whether you’re into hiking, snorkelling, camping, or just soaking up the sunshine, you’ll find your happy place here.
So, what’s next?
If you’re ready to take your career somewhere new, somewhere with space, sunshine, and endless opportunity, then pack your sense of adventure and make Queensland your new home.
Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad, so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell.
Work with purpose, live with balance, and join a team that truly has your back, right here on the Capricorn Coast.
