Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: Tradesmen are the cornerstone of Moxon Industries. They are responsible for the successful manufacture of products for customers. Tradesmen are highly valued at Moxon Industries and are key in the success of meeting and exceeding customer expectations for all jobs. Tradesmen can work in Fabrication or General sections within Moxon Industries.

Networking relationships

To achieve the objectives of this role, the incumbent is dependent on the following internal and/or external networks;

- Internal: Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Logistics Team Leader, All workshop employees
- External: Regulators

Key Accountabilities

Job Manufacture

- Work from drawings, Engineering specifications, sketches, verbal and/or written instructions
- Generally, works with little or no supervision, but receives instructions from Team Leaders
- All manufactured products and services conform to established specifications of quality
- Check the quality of the First Article, Work in progress and inspect the finished product of other Tradesmen on request or as needed
- Assist in the training of Apprentices
- Ensure hours taken to complete work are in line with estimated hours or good trade practice
- Ensure that Time Sheets are completed accurately at the completion of each shift
- Maintain a clean environment, clean machines and areas daily, put all tools away
- Take care and appropriately use company owned equipment so that it is not damaged
- Any other reasonable duties assigned to you by your team leader

Health and Safety responsibilities

- Take reasonable care of yourself and others in the workplace
- Work in a way that does not compromise your own Health and Safety and that of others
- Follow Moxon Industries Policies, Procedures, Work Instructions or equivalent, Programs and Health and Safety Legislation, as appropriate
- Ensure that team members adhere to all Moxon Industries health and safety policies procedures
- Do not bypass or misuse systems or equipment provided for any purpose
- Report unsafe conditions or acts which come to your attention and address where possible. Notify your supervisor of actual or potential Health and Safety risks in your work area
- Notify your manager immediately of incidents or injury. Seek medical attention if necessary and where required participate in an injury management plan making all efforts to return to work as soon as possible in line with medical advice
- Maintain and use equipment and chemicals appropriately and only use if trained and authorised
- Follow all signage and PPE requirements and participate in training as identified
- Co-operate with management, Health and Safety representatives and other people as necessary to enable compliance with any requirement under Health & Safety legislation

Person specification – Competencies Required for the Position

Competencies/Qualifications

Experience

Essential:

- Trade certificates (Fabrication, Boiler making etc.)
- Experienced Mig/Tig welding in Mild Steel and Stainless
- Aluminum welding advantageous
- High understanding of Weld Symbols and Technical drawings
- Knowledge of Engineering and Manufacturing Practices
- Sheetmetal folding ability

Essential:

- A minimum of 10 years’ trade/practical experience
- Team Management experience
- Good Communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Calculate safe and efficient method to carry out work
- Troubleshooting

Desirable:

- Strong technical understanding of Engineering and manufacturing practices
- High Level of cooperation with Operations Manager, Team Leaders and other Workshop Employees
