Join the Northern Beaches Medical Centre team, where we provide urgent, high-quality care alongside the Emergency Department to help ease hospital demand. We’re building a flexible pool of Specialist GPs who can step in when needed – whether to cover sick or holiday leave, or to help with our weekend roster. Regular weekend shifts are also available for those seeking ongoing work in a dynamic, ED‑adjacent environment.

Selection Criteria

- Vocationally Registered as a Specialist General Practitioner

- Unrestricted 19AB, or doctors subject to section 19AB restrictions with an existing medical school affiliation

- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

- Regular weekend shifts available, and availability to fill in during the week when needed due to leave or illness.

Further Information

- All GPs are credentialed as VMO’s of Northern Beaches Hospital and are paid a sessional rate i.e. the GP’s income is not linked to billing.

- Patients present to Northern Beaches Medical Centre on a walk‑in basis and are bulk‑billed.

- Northern Beaches Medical Centre is open 7 days per week.

- High quality facility including on‑site pathology/radiology, pharmacy, specialist rooms and ample parking.

Clinical Presentations

- Fractures, sprains, and lacerations

- Acute wound and skin infections

- Minor head injuries and lacerations

- Acute illnesses such as respiratory infections, and mild chest or abdominal pain in usually well patients

- Minor eye emergencies such as conjunctivitis or a suspected foreign body
