Job Description – School Counsellor – Monaro High School ($20K Recruitment Bonus)

Regional NSW – Goulburn & Southern Tablelands

Salary

Base salary $101,122–$160,983 plus benefits. Total package up to $182,461. $20,000 recruitment bonus available.

Role Summary

School counsellor at Monaro High School working with Year 7–12 students. Provide counselling, psychological assessment, and collaborate with multidisciplinary team. Eligible for professional supervision and professional development.

Responsibilities

- Provide individual and group counselling to students.

- Conduct psychological assessments, case formulation, and report writing.

- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student wellbeing.

- Participate in professional supervision and continuing professional development.

Qualifications & Selection Criteria

- Registered or provisionally registered psychologist, or eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

- Experience in evidence‑based counselling for children and young people.

- Experience in psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes.

- Experience working with diverse student populations.

Conditions

- Eligibility for the Teachers award under the Crown Employees award 2024.

- Eligibility to teach or commence teaching approval process.

- Willingness to travel between worksites.
