Responsibilities
- Be the fun facilitator: Help residents explore interests within the home and beyond (art classes, gardening, day trips, movie nights).
- Social facilitator: Connect residents through activities and conversations to foster belonging.
- Care support: Assist with daily living, meals and outings, and provide emotional support for cognitive impairment or mental health needs.
- Resident champion: Gather feedback through surveys and family conferences to improve activities.
- Team collaboration: Work with the Lifestyle Coordinator and care team to plan activities, document progress, and escalate concerns.
- Hygiene and safety: Maintain infection control and a tidy environment.
- Food service support: Assist with plating and serving meals, adhering to food safety standards and resident preferences.
Qualifications
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
- Australian driver’s licence desirable
- Passion for enriching lives is the most important qualification
- Can-do spirit: flexible, adaptable, and ready for challenges
- Creative spark: ideas to make each day an adventure
- Excellent communication: connects easily with residents and colleagues
- Team player: collaborates effectively and supports others
- Previous experience in caring for elders within an Aged Care or community setting is essential
