About the role
UGLs Maintenance & Manufacturing facility based inBassendeanhas an opportunity for an experiencedTrades Assistantto join the team. This position will be a permanent full-time opportunity working on a rotating roster, one week dayshift 6.00 am - 2.30 pm, one week afternoon shift 1.30 pm - 10.30 pm.
Reporting to the workshop supervisor, the main purpose of this role is to assist qualified trades staff in the performance of their work in a safe and efficient manner to deliver an exceptional standard of service to our clients.
- Assist tradespeople as instructed to enable work to be carried out
- Operate hand tools in safe and efficient manner
- Assist in maintenance and overhaul activities on a variety of components
- Labouring duties as required
- Cleaning armature & stator cores for rewind
- Ensure active involvement in Lean practices
- A strong commitment to maintaining a safety environment
This role is not suitable for Working Holiday Visa's (417/462) due to the role being a full-time position
About You
- Minimum 3 months experience on a maintenance site.
- Elevated Work Platform ticketpreferred but not essential
- Dogman ticketis highly desirable
- 'C' Class Drivers License
- Able to perform duties, maintaining high standards in both Safety and Quality.
- Sound experience in a similar role assisting trades people in a heavy industry environment
- High level of measuring skills and eye for detail and quality standards
- Strong safety culture and attitude towards safety
