The Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager - Transport to join our Traffic and Transport Department. This role will play a key part in planning, designing, managing, delivering, and communicating Council’s Greenways Plan, which is currently under development. You will lead the delivery of walking and cycling infrastructure projects, ensuring they align with community needs and Council strategies, while working closely with internal teams, Councillors, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the planning and design of walking and cycling infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and reflecting the future needs of our community.
- Develop and implement consultation and engagement strategies that effectively communicate with residents, community groups, and government authorities.
- Manage projects from initiation to completion, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, oversee budgets, and prepare clear reports and presentations for Council and community meetings.
- Respond to community concerns and foster innovative approaches to infrastructure design and communications as part of day-to-day activities.

About You

You bring a tertiary qualification in Transport Planning, Urban Planning, or Project Management, supported by demonstrated experience in walking and cycling infrastructure design and project management. Your skills in community consultation and engagement are highly developed, enabling you to facilitate effective communication with diverse stakeholders. You are an excellent written and verbal communicator, confident in preparing complex reports and presentations. Proficiency in standard office software and preferably AutoCAD complements your technical expertise. With a strong commitment to sustainability and collaborative work, you thrive in a dynamic environment where your ideas help shape a connected and accessible city.
