Overview

Bing Bong Operator

Glencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a long future. You’ll find our mine in the Gulf of Carpentaria 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola. We produce and process zinc, lead and silver from our open cut mine. It is then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and shipped to our customers worldwide. Our customers use our essential commodities in everyday products for mobility, infrastructure and communications.

Responsibilities

- Safely and efficiently operate front-end loaders and other heavy machinery to load, unload, and move materials and products

- Conduct pre-operational checks to ensure optimal performance

- Assist with the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Bing Bong facilities

- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment and ensure there is no contamination to the environment and team

- Work with the wider team to meet production targets and deadlines

- Ensure compliance with all safety, fatigue and company guidelines

- Set and maintain housekeeping standards

Qualifications

- Experience working in the mining industry or in port operations using 980 loader, forklift and skid steer

- Experience and licensed to operate up to a 20T Excavator, Forklift, Skid Steer, Loader and Crane Operator

- Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform and MR licences are essential

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety standards

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals

- Ability to pass pre-employment medical checks, including drug and alcohol testing and chest X-ray

- Experience or ability to work in a remote location
