Overview

Join Ausgrid as a Data & Systems Analyst to support the seamless operation and performance of our digital systems across the battery business. In this role, you will maintain data integrity, develop insightful dashboards, and ensure the availability of accurate information that underpins critical business activities such as invoicing, reporting, and system optimisation.

You will be the go-to specialist for system troubleshooting and performance monitoring, managing and resolving system-related tickets, and liaising with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely issue resolution. Your work will directly support operational and optimisation teams, helping them use digital platforms effectively.

You will proactively develop and enhance dashboards (primarily in Power BI), providing real-time visibility into performance metrics and operational trends. Your ability to create, manage, and validate complex data sets will be crucial for maintaining the accuracy and consistency of internal billing, external reporting, and analytical models.

You will also contribute to digital modelling and simulation of battery performance by preparing and structuring key operational data inputs. Close collaboration with internal stakeholders will be essential as you help align systems and data outputs with evolving business needs.

Beyond technical responsibilities, you’ll document key processes, data flows, and system usage to foster knowledge sharing and ensure business continuity. You will be encouraged to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, whether through better data quality, system enhancements, or the automation of routine tasks.

Responsibilities

- Drive the performance of digital systems across the battery business, ensuring reliable data, insightful dashboards and seamless IT/OT operations.
- Manage and resolve system-related tickets; liaise with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain dashboards (primarily Power BI) to provide real-time visibility into performance metrics and operational trends.
- Create, manage, and validate complex data sets to support internal billing, reporting, and analytical models.
- Contribute to digital modelling and simulation of battery performance by preparing and structuring key operational data inputs.
- Document processes, data flows, and system usage; identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience supporting IT systems, including troubleshooting, ticket resolution, and operational systems monitoring.
- Proficiency in SQL, Databricks, Python (e.g. pandas), R, or SAS.
- Experience with data visualization platforms (Power BI or Tableau); ability to develop and maintain business dashboards.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and data/systems integration tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables.
