Abergeldie is a majority locally owned contractor with 30 years’ industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors.
Our two-year Graduate Program blends hands‑on experience, structured training, mentoring, and professional development. From day one, you’ll be working on real projects, gaining exposure to multiple disciplines, and building the skills needed to excel in your field. You’ll take part in:
- Graduate Induction: A structured introduction to Abergeldie, our culture, values, and the projects you’ll be working on. You’ll meet key leaders, visit project sites, and connect with fellow graduates.
- Graduate Rotations: Gain exposure to different areas of the business through structured rotations. Engineering graduates will rotate through key functions such as Safety, Pre‑Contracts, and Commercial to develop a well‑rounded understanding of project delivery.
- Mentoring & Buddy Program: Guidance from experienced professionals and peers to help you succeed.
- Innovation Challenge: Take part in a hands‑on challenge designed to develop creative thinking, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
- Technical & Professional Development: Take part in a structured learning program designed to build your technical expertise and professional skills. Through a mix of training sessions, site visits, and hands‑on learning.
- Networking & Career Growth: Build connections with leaders, industry professionals, and fellow graduates.
- Community Engagement: Opportunities to get involved in social impact initiatives.
What we are looking for
We’re looking for a motivated and proactive Graduate Community and Engagement Advisor to join our team, supporting major infrastructure projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in community engagement, which focuses on building positive relationships with local residents, businesses, and stakeholders impacted by construction projects. You’ll help ensure communities are informed, heard, and supported throughout the project lifecycle.
This would suit graduates from Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or Social Science backgrounds who are passionate about working with people, solving problems, and contributing to projects that deliver real community benefit.
You’ll be involved in developing and implementing communication strategies, engaging with stakeholders, managing community feedback, and contributing to meaningful interactions that support successful project delivery.
