About the Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our global IT team. This role is critical to the performance, reliability, and security of our enterprise database environments across Microsoft SQL & Oracle DB Server platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Setup & Maintenance: Install, configure, upgrade, and manage SQL Server environments & Oracle, including schemas and security roles.
- Performance Optimization: Analyse and tune queries, indexes, and system resources to ensure optimal database performance.
- Backup & Recovery: Implement and test disaster recovery strategies using RMAN, Always On, and other tools to ensure business continuity.
- High Availability & Replication: Manage clustering, replication, and failover solutions such as Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and SQL Always On.
- Security & Compliance: Apply patches, enforce access controls, and maintain audit trails to meet IT security standards.
- Collaboration & Support: Partner with development teams for database design and provide L2/L3 support for production issues.
- Documentation & Automation: Maintain proper documentation for processes, configurations, and procedures. Automate repetitive tasks using scripts or tools.
Technical Skills & Experience Required
- 10–15 years of DBA experience with both Oracle and SQL Server
- Oracle: 12c/19c, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, RAC
- SQL Server: 2016/2019, Always On, SSIS/SSRS/SSAS
- Strong scripting in SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL
- Proven expertise in performance tuning and query optimization
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows environments
- Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or OCI
- Experience with database upgrades, migrations, and patching
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
- Experience with DevOps integration and automation tools
- Familiarity with NoSQL or cloud-native databases
