The Opportunity
Due to the ongoing success of our national operations, we are expanding our Geo-Environmental Engineering team. We are looking for a Senior Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our Adelaide office.
This role offers the opportunity to lead a technical team and strengthen relationships with key clients across Australia. You will be instrumental in strategizing and delivering projects in the civil infrastructure, waste, water infrastructure and mining sectors.
What you’ll do in more details:
- Lead and deliver projects focused on
1. Waste management including landfill design, engineered containment systems, geosynthetic applications resource recovery solutions
2. Water infrastructure including dam engineering, earth structures and repair works, and waste water management ponds
3. Mining including tailings management facilities and complex liner systems
4. Ground engineering including slope stabilisation and rehabilitation
- Develop cutting-edge solutions for geo-environmental challenges, integrating waste management into broader infrastructure projects
- Prepare and review technical documentation for waste-related projects across planning, design, and execution phases
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients in the waste and geo-environmental sectors, supporting both project delivery and business development initiatives
- Ensure technical excellence in waste and geo-environmental engineering, overseeing quality and risk management
- Undertaking project management to deliver desired outcomes for key clients with a focus on repeat business
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment and sharing expertise in waste management and geo-environmental engineering
- Support operational management by contributing to strategies that drive business growth in waste and environmental services
About You
You will likely have tertiary qualification in Civil, Geotechnical or Environmental Engineering combined with more than 7 years of industry experience.
You will also bring:
- Significant experience in waste and geo-environmental engineering
- Strong expertise in waste management, including landfill design, leachate systems, geosynthetics, and resource recovery
- Expertise addressing subsurface environmental risks, embankments, earthworks, and surface water management
- Excellent communication skills with experience in effectively engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience leading and integrating into multidisciplinary projects
- A highly motivated, innovative mindset with a commitment to sustainability and technical excellence
- Demonstrated leadership, decision making and mentoring skills to support development of junior, intermediate and senior engineers
